Update on Seph

Last night we finally went to the hospital to have Seph's stone removed. The doctor assured us after our bout of x-rays last week that he was convinced the stone had passed. I wasn't convinced--Seph has been "out of pain" for days before only to start up again. However, we didn't have much choice but to wait and see.

On Sunday the pain started up again worse than ever. We called them that night and got a prescription for Lortabb (however it is spelled) then called again in the morning to find out what they wanted us to do. They sent us to the hospital shortly after the other kids got home from school. They were able to recover the stone. It broke up a bit on its way out, but there is enough to send to the lab. Hopefully we'll have some answers now.

The whole thing took less than three hours, I think. Seph says all he remembers is them putting the breathing mask in place. He doesn't remember falling asleep, just waking up to be told it was "all done." He feels pretty good today, but he has a sore throat from the tube, and isn't supposed to overdo it. He stayed home from school today, and we'll keep him home one more day, but we're glad it is almost over.
